69 Super Bee
Zoals sommigen misschien hebben gelezen staat hij nu nog bij Hans in Texas, maar hier alvast wat info en pics over de "Bee".
Na 10 jaar de Camaro (standaard 350Cui) te hebben gehad was ik toe aan wat ruigers. Dus kiezen tussen de Camaro motorisch en technisch flink upgraden, of een auto kopen die alles al heeft wat ik zoek. Dikke motor, suspension en brakes. En als het even kan een vet model. En dat is voor mij o.a. een Coronet uit 68 en 69.
Dus, Camaro verkocht, en dan maar shoppen in de US. Na Coronets te hebben besproken met de eigenaren (rare jongens sommige Amerikanen) is het deze Louisiana Bee geworden;
De particuliere eigenaar was een hele aardige vent. Hij gaf veel informatie en hield zich aan elke afspraak. De auto laten inspecteren door AutomobileInspections. Vier dagen na aanvraag op internet had ik het inspectierapport in de mail met 120 foto's. En de auto was zoals de verkoper beloofde dik in orde.
Er is de afgelopen jaren heel veel aan de auto vernieuwd en verbeterd. Hij is niet helemaal origineel meer
Voor de liefhebbers wat specs;
Body
WM21 post car, solid southern body with factory undercoating. All floor pans and frame rails, etc, are very solid. Very good, driver quality, Hi-Impact Yellow paint w/ very minor blemishes. New bumble bee tail stripe.
All weather-stripping, rubber seals have been replaced (front and rear glass, door & trunk weather stripping, window channels, etc.), and new body plug kit
All factory tinted glass in good shape & all exterior window moldings buffed and polished
New repro Super Bee, Penstar, and 440 Magnum emblems,
New repro Drip Rail, Wheel Lip, and Rocker Panel Moldings
Newly Triple-Plated front & rear bumpers and all stainless hardware.
Very good rear tail panel and front grill
Lightweight, lift-off fiberglass six-pack hood with aluminum hood prop rods
New gas tank, tank mat, j-bolts, sending unit, and 3/8 inch fuel line.
Billet Magnum 500 wheels (18x9 front w/255 45R18 & 18x10 rear w/275 45R18)
440 (D-code) engine built for blower with 8.5:1 compression & fairly strong, but streetable cam
Melling HD Oil Pump
Hooker ceramic coated headers with full TTI 3 inch exhaust system
Edlebrock Performer intake with 750 CFM Performer Carb.
Holley Blue electric fuel pump with regulator
Mopar Performance Valve Covers and Air Cleaner
Be Cool cross flow aluminum radiator, Mopar Performance aluminum water pump housing with Milidon HD water pump. Dual puller electric fan (2750 cfm)
Torqueflight with reverse manual valve body and 3000 stall.
B&M Polished Supercoolers (1 for oil and 1 for transmission)
Braided stainless radiator hoses, and fuel, oil and transmission lines throughout
8.75 rear with 3.55 gears with pinion snubber
New Mopar Performance electronic ignition system with 1970up voltage regulator conversion and new ACCEL plug wires
Interior
All black interior in very good condition
Front buckets (69 Charger) and headrest chrome strips. Rear seat with new cover to match.
Repro headliner, carpet and floor insulation, new floor mats, repro parcel shelf & insulation, repro front & rear door panels with new arm rest bases and pads. Also, repro trunk divider shelf & insulation, as well as new firewall insulation and dash insulation.
71-74 console with Hurst V-Matic Shifter and brushed aluminum console plate
Very nice factory rally dash with full complement of Autometer Sport-Comp gauges set in the original locations and order with all factory switches (lights, wipers, etc.), retained and operational. All gauges are electric (except speedometer) and are wired in with a Ron Francis kit for easy removal of cluster.
New speedometer cable and correct speedometer gear
New Grant GT Challenger steering wheel and billet hub
Factory AM 8-Track (needs restoration).
Factory heater control delete and map light delete plates
No heater or defroster, but fresh-air vent boxes on both driver and passenger side. (Factory heater box and controls are included.)
Suspension
All new front suspension; new upper control arms with new bushings and ball joints, new lower control arm pivot shafts and bushings, new lower ball joints.
New 1” dia. HD torsion bars and seals, new strut rod bushings, bump stops, idler arm, HD 11/16” tie rod ends.
New Edlebrock Classic shocks
New SSBC front disk brake kit with power master cylinder
New SSBC rear disk brake kit
New rear leaf spring shackle kit
New Inline Tube Technologies stainless steel brakeline kit and new distribution block.
Electrical
Rebuilt starter and alternator.
Repro engine harness, front lamp harness, and rear lamp harness
100 AMP Magna Fuse to protect from overloading the new wiring.
Rebuilt wiper motor
All lights, horn, wipers, etc., are operational.
New Optima Yellow Top Battery

Mooie wagen, ik ben zo'n 20 jaar geleden bezig geweest met die zwarte 68-er die destijds bij Jan Shelby stond.
Maar na een proefritje vond ik de handgeschakelde bak toch niet zo prettig.
